Detailed 6-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe or Kampala
Your primate safari begins upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport. A Muganzi Safaris guide will welcome you and facilitate your transfer to your hotel. Depending on your flight time, you may relax or take an optional tour of Kampala. In the evening, receive a comprehensive briefing about the incredible journey ahead.

Day 2: Scenic Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After an early breakfast, embark on a scenic drive southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The journey itself is a highlight — winding through rolling hills and vibrant local communities. Upon arrival, check into your lodge located on the forest edge, where cool, misty air heightens the anticipation for tomorrow’s trek.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
This is the day of your lifetime encounter. After an early breakfast and a short drive to the park headquarters, you’ll be briefed by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. The trek is a thrilling adventure through dense, ancient forest. Once a gorilla family is located, you’ll spend one magical hour observing them as they feed, play, and interact. After the trek, receive your official certificate and return to the lodge to relive the experience.

Day 4: Journey to Kibale National Park
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing for Kibale Forest National Park. The drive north offers stunning views of the Rwenzori Mountains (the “Mountains of the Moon”) and Uganda’s countryside. Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon, where you can relax and listen to the sounds of the forest — home to 13 primate species.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest
Today, you’ll meet our closest living relatives. After a briefing at the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre, your guided chimpanzee trek begins. Kibale’s dense forest is alive with the sounds of birds and monkeys, building excitement until you find a community of habituated chimpanzees. Watch them swing through the canopy and socialize on the forest floor. The afternoon is free for optional activities, such as a swamp walk or a community visit.

Day 6: Departure
